Yenka is a new range of simulation and modelling tools from Crocodile Clips. Each one is designed for use either on whiteboards, in front of a class, or by individual students.
On 1 June 2007, the first tool in the series - Yenka 3D Shapes - was launched on www.yenka.com. It lets teachers and students experiment with 3D geometry.
The software is designed to allow students to easily explore 3D geometry. Unlike many other mathematical modelling tools, ready-made shapes and a simple drag-and-drop interface make Yenka easy to use from the start. The ability to add questions, instructions or text allows teachers to create their own bank of custom-made lessons.
From 1 June, schools can download a basic version of Yenka 3D Shapes free of charge. It lets gives access to some of the shapes, measurements and tools - without any registration or time limit.
