Crocodile Clips has won a contract to provide science content and simulations for the launch of Scotland's Glow learning portal.
In September 2007, the Glow portal (http://www.glowscotland.com) will launch at the Scottish Learning Festival. It will be a national schools intranet which links Scotland's 800,000 educators and pupils. Funded by the Scottish Executive and managed by Learning and Teaching Scotland, its powerful online tools will permit secure collaborative learning, at any location or time.
Since 2004, Scotland's secondary schools and pupils have enjoyed access to Crocodile Clips' virtual chemistry laboratory, Crocodile Chemistry. Over the coming weeks, Crocodile Clips will be generating a range of content, optimised for use within Glow, to support the use of this powerful simulation software.
Crocodile Chemistry has been acclaimed by educators for its innovative approach to science learning. It allows students to mix chemicals on screen and model reactions in a safe and informative virtual laboratory. It is already used in many UK secondary schools, and in over 50 countries worldwide.
