To help spread the word about its new Yenka modelling software, Edinburgh software publisher Crocodile Clips is making an unprecedented offer.
The company is offering free home-use licences to all students and teaching staff at recognised schools, colleges and universities. The free licences gives access to all of the company's six Yenka products, covering secondary-school mathematics and technology.
Crocodile Clips' software is used in over half of UK secondary schools. Although school licences normally retail for several hundred pounds, customers will not need to purchase anything to get their free home licences. A member of teaching staff simply needs to register the institution on the Yenka website.
Marketing Director Dominic Sharratt said "for once, this offer isn't too good to be true. Giving away software to students helps us too, as it helps to get our products known. Obviously, we hope that if the students and teachers like it, they'll be more likely to purchase for their school - but there's no obligation to do so."
